Are you a travel coach looking for tips on how to set a solid foundation for your business or ways to take it to new heights? Do you want to create a thriving brand that truly resonates with your audience? In this article, we'll dive into the five “gets" – five essential, evergreen strategies that will help you elevate your travel coaching business.
When you sound like everyone else, or do what they do, just because it works for them or someone told you that this is the way that you should do it, you get lost in the crowd.
Instead, start getting authentic in your business. That means tapping into your own travel story, using your own travel experiences, your own purpose for travel in your travel brand, and sharing your beliefs around the value of travel.
What is it that you believe in?
What is it that you want people to know and believe in when it comes to travel?
Build a business that is true to yourself. In your business, you can do and create anything that you want, so don't try to structure yourself or be like someone else just because it has been proven to be done by them or because they coached you to do it that way. This is a time to get authentic and to ask yourself what is your WHY for what you are doing.
Stop trying to serve and reach everyone because if you're trying to serve everyone or talk to everyone, your messaging is going to be convoluted with so much fluff. You can't talk to everyone. You can't serve everyone. You have to narrow down and speak directly to the people you're aiming to reach. Get clear on who you want to help and how you want to help them. Your “how” will become your revenue streams and the value that provide within your brand.
What are you offering people?
How are you nurturing them?
What stories are you telling them?
Can they connect with you to get guidance, help and ask questions?
Get clear on what your messaging even is.
Who are you trying to help and service?
Who are you trying to sell your service to?
Who are you trying to have work with you or buy your products?
Get clear on all of this so you can have a game plan and a strategy moving forward.

Stop holding yourself back from spreading your own message. Share your personal story, attract your ideal clients, provide value to your audience, and grow your brand.
Focus on pitching yourself to be a guest on podcasts, writing blogs and articles, being quoted in publications, pitching to media outlets, applying to be a guest speaker for events, and sharing your ideas and your vision for your business to an audience that resonates with it.
Stop trying to keep yourself hidden. Your brand is you. People want to be able to learn more about you, connect with you, and hear your stories. We don't actually sell travel. What we're selling instead is a transformation, a feeling, an outcome, a result - something a lot more personal and emotional because that's what travel is. It's personal and it's emotional. You need to put that into your messaging in your own authentic way, and that's what's going to attract clients.
Stop hiding and start showing up. Build your business in a way that's authentic to you.
This doesn’t mean you have to be a travel star and post your travels all the time on social media.
Find what works for you, what you're interested in, what you're passionate about, how you want to share your messages, and how you want to reach and attract your ideal clients.
Try different things to see what you like and gauge how your audience interacts and engages with your content. Ultimately, find a system and a way that really works for you and that you enjoy. Your business and brand rely on you to show up and make yourself known.
Remember, no one can buy from you or work with you or talk about you to someone else if they don’t know you exist or they've never heard of you before. So make sure to get on social media platforms that your ideal clients are on, be strategic with which ones you show up on, and put yourself out there.
You don't have to overwhelm yourself when it comes to posting content, and you don't have to have the greatest travel videos or inspirational posts, but you have to be consistent in what you're posting. Your audience will grow if you're speaking their language and you're speaking directly to their pain points, which are all really important.
Try to post various types of content to captivate your audience.
